1. 2022 Alabama Triennial

Featuring 16 local Alabama contemporary artists, the 2022 Alabama Triennial helps audiences understand what it means to be Southern through diverse perspectives. Located at the Abroms-Engel Institute of Visual Arts (AEIVA), this exhibition is free to the public and not something you want to miss.

2. Elysian Gardens

An immersive steel art park is opening soon in Avondale. One of the most anticipated art openings in Birmingham, Elysian Gardens has a lot to offer. You can spend hours here and still find something to experience.

3. Orion
Experience Orion, a group exhibition curated by artist Jason Stopa at Scott Miller Projects, featuring works by Justine Hill, Kimia Ferdowsi Kline, and Stopa. Just as the three stars in Orion’s belt guide you to look at the sky, these three artists explore your perception of movement and art.
4. Light Game

One of the most interesting art openings in Birmingham can be found at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Reflect your emotions in their latest exhibition, Light Play. Explore over thirty works by artists such as Afruz Amighi, Kumi Yamashita and Harry Anderson that incorporate the play of light and shadow.
5. Good on paper
Visit Samford University’s dynamic art gallery, where contemporary printmakers Noah Breuer and Liz Chalfin exhibit their art. As Birmingham art openings go, this one is made for print lovers.
6. Night art

Studio 2500 is an art studio and gallery that everyone can appreciate. Celebrate this gallery’s sixth anniversary with an Art at Night party. There will be live music, art and food. Buy your tickets here.
