Eyes to the skies, Bristol!
The city’s annual Balloon Fiesta is back after a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
And this year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever with 4 jam-packed days at Ashton Court Estate from 11-14 August.
It included three mass rises that saw more than 100 colorful balloons fly together over Bristol.
Festivities can’t go on without a practice run, and this morning (Monday, August 1) saw the start of pre-festival flights over the city.
The balloons were released at around 6am from Vassells Park in Fishponds and Pomphrey Hill in Emerson’s Green.
The Bristol Balloon Fiesta launched its annual pre-festival flights from two community locations at around 6am today.
It was worth an early start for those in the field to see the colorful balloons career over Bristol this morning.
Sites at Fishponds and Emerson’s Green have been chosen for the releases this year.
Before the balloons are prepared, inflated and lifted over the city, pilots are briefed on the weather for the first ascent.
