Spring Cleaning Helps Your Community
Although March 20 is the official first day of spring, we are still waiting for this cold weather to break. Just because it doesn’t feel like spring outside doesn’t mean we can’t start our usual spring activities inside. And nothing says Spring like a good spring cleaning!
Pick a closet or closet and go through the rainy day movies. Clean up. Make a clothing donation pile, throw out expired condiments or pantry items, and If you find any children’s books up to a 6th grade reading level, WE WILL TAKE THEM! This blog will provide you with some great resources to help usher in spring, keep your home pest free, and give back to your community.

Spring Cleaning and Pest Control
Be proactive and pest-proof at the same time as you clear out the house for items you no longer need. (It wouldn’t be a pest control company blog if we didn’t mention pests!) When deep cleaning, check the quality of your window screens, when getting rid of empty containers under the sink, check for pipes. t leaking. Holes in screens and pooling water are big bad signs for pests like stink bugs, ants, Asian bugs and other seasonal pests. Below are some additional tips to make sure your home is ready to welcome spring without pests.
- Seal cracks and small openings along the foundation of the house.
- Clear clogged drains and sewer pipes to keep them working properly.
- Repair loose grout and replace worn weatherstripping around all windows and doors.
- Screened windows and doors.
- Trim tree branches and other plants around the house.
- Keep kitchens clean by wiping down counters, sinks, floors and shelves.
- Keep food clean and sealed in airtight containers, both indoors and outdoors.
- Empty the trash often.
- Eliminate sources of moisture or standing water from leaking pipes or faucets.
